What happens if im visibly overweight and start training / working on my abs? Will i suffer any consequences?

I am visibly overweight not just “on the scale” overweight ( i know it sorta sounds stupid). I am beginning to work on my abs to get more core strength. I am sorta doing cardio (swimming/walking) and eating a better diet with just water, eggs or fruit for breakfast and dinner with a little snack like some oatmeal cookies. Will i suffer any consequences, internal or external? How will it affect my hopeful future of actually losing weight? Thank you whoever responds and answers this question.

    to be honest with you…working out when you are overweight is going to turn all the fat into muscle and you don’t want that…you want to slim down first do i suggest eating healthly and doing a good amount of cardio like running, walking, biking, and then after you shed a good amount of pounds, add the muscle work out (like abs and lifting weights)

    eat alot of small meals spread out throu out the day!!! it will boost your matabilism,,

    also:: DRINK ONLY WATER

    :: what drinking water does ::

    your liver and kidneys cleen the liquid that you consume… the liver also has another job… it burns calories, so if you drink only water your liver doesn’t have to use all its energy to cleaning so it can burn calories.

    First and foremost, you need a physical from your doctor. Secondly, eat your bigger meals at morning and noon and very light in the evening such as a chefs salad. Eat smaller portions and snack frequently on fresh fruits and vegetables and yogurt.
    Providing your check up is ok, then start an excercise regime but start out slowly and work up to more. Drink lots of water during excercise and inbetween meals. It helps not only to keep you hydrated but also flushes out impurities and also infections not to mention giving you a full feeling whereby you eat less. Good luck!
    Don`t eat after 6 PM.

    I have to disagree with lovelylady. I don’t mean to be disrespectful but there is alot of misinformation out there. You should do both cardio and strength training.
    You can’t turn fat into muscle. They are two different tissues. It is NEVER a bad thing to gain muscle. Women don’t bulk up when they do strength training. We don’t have enough testosterone. Building muscle has so many benefits. Obviously it makes you stronger, but it also raises your metabolism making your body more efficient in burning calories. It gives you energy and makes you look and feel good. It sounds like you are getting a good start. Be careful with the cookies though. Not every day! Make sure you get some carbs but make sure they are the right carbs with whole grains. Like whole wheat bread and pasta. Don’t buy bread that just says wheat bread. It needs to say whole wheat. It’s also the same with other whole grain foods. I prefer free weights over the machines. I think you get way better results. I go to a class at the YMCA called Rep Reebok. It is an awesome group weight lifting class that is done to music. I reccommend it for beginners because there is an instructor who will help you make sure you are doing all the exercises right. There are also other classes with different names.
    Make sure the exercise you do is something you enjoy because you are much more likely to stay with it. I wish you alot of luck!!
