<p>In order to lose love handles fast, and get six pack abs, understand that your body must be at around 10% body fat. Here is how you&#8217;ll get to that goal:</p>
<p>A. Avoid simple carbohydrates (white bread, pasta, white rice, etc.), and eat complex carbohydrates (whole grains, etc.)</p>
<p>B. Eat less saturated fats and eat more foods containing healthy fats (monounsaturated, polyunsaturated).</p>
<p>C. Increase your protein intake to help preserve muscle mass. Doing so will cause your body to automatically get rid of stubborn fat. This will obviously have you lose love handles fast since that area of your body, including the belly, is where you&#8217;ll find stubborn fat.</p>

It takes a lot of grit and determination to do so. However, if your motivation is strong enough, you will get there.</p>
<p>&#13;When I said it is not easy because there is no short cut to get a flat belly with 6 pack abs. Only those late night informercials can give you fake promises that certain gizmos can help you get a flat belly. If you want an easy way out, then part your money to those advertisers forever and then get ready to be disappointed.</p>
<p>&#13;No, even if you perform a trillion sit ups and leg raisers day in and day out is not gonna get you the coveted six pack abs. To get a flat belly you want, you will need to put in some work and get educated with some science. </p>
<p>&#13;Here some helpful pointers to help you achieve your flat belly objective and if you stick on to it, you will find that not only will your belly get flatter week after week, you will also reduce excess body fat from all parts of your body and soon, your 6 pack abs will be revealed.</p>
<p>&#13;Correct eating habit and nutrition is the most important factor in getting a flat stomach. Therefore you will need to control your blood sugar levels to lose body fat. One way to do that is to consume five to six meals small meals a day. Please note, I said small meals, such as dividing the portion of your three daily meals into 5-6 smaller meals. </p>
<p>&#13;Next, reduce your carbohydrate consumption to about 50 percent or less from your meals. Most people eat way too much carbs anyway and before their body can burn the carbs for energy, the carbs would have been converted to glycogen and the further excess carbs into body fat. </p>
<p>&#13;Consume your small meals at 2 to 3 hours intervals. This is because when your stomach is empty, your body will tend to conserve fat for energy and by eating frequently. You won&#8217;t want that to happen right? Furthermore, you will be controlling your blood sugar level to encourage fat loss and you will start to lose weight gradually. </p>
<p>&#13;However, if you are still not losing weight, then you are consuming too many calories. In this case, make your meals even smaller by reducing more carbs. </p>
<p>&#13;By the first week, you will probably lose between 4 to 5 pounds (about 2kg) of water weight and some body fat. By continuing to eat like this, you should be losing about 1 to 2 pounds per week. If you are losing weight more than that, then you are probably losing muscle weight too. In this case, then increase your carbs consumption a little until you achieve a gradual weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds a week.</p>
<p>&#13;However, if you are not losing 1 to 2 pounds per week, then reduce another 100 calories from your meals. Remember to abstain from sugar laden drinks such as soda and soft drinks as these drinks are chock full of calories. Alcohol consumption is a big fat No No!</p>
<p>&#13;Now, when you are losing weight, your belly will get flatter and flatter but you will still need to incorporate exercises into your weight loss routine to burn more calories as well as getting your muscles toned and getting the 6 pack abs. Furthermore, for every pound of muscle you that you gain on your body, you will burn 30-50 extra calories a day. You will then become a natural calorie burner. </p>
<p>&#13;Is this get flat belly program easy? Nope, it is not and that is why so few people have flat bellies and tight six pack abs. However, it is definitely achievable if your desire to have a flat belly is strong enough.</p>

<p>As a London Personal Trainer I often get asked how to develop a strong core and 6 pack stomach muscles. It seems that so many people are still practicing old exercises and cranking out hundreds of situps on a daily basis in the hope of reducing stomach fat and developing their 6 pack abs.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Doing regular sit ups or crunches will not only give you back problems but doesnt really help in develping your core and revealing your stomach muscles. Our core / stomach muscles are more complex than you may think and need to be worked in three different planes of motion for optimal results. Doing regular situps and crunches is both unnatural and only addresses one plane of movement, and its not very good at doing that.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>As well as taking the core / stomach muscles through 3 different planes of movement the body fat covering the abdominals must also be addressed. Forget the old wives tale about spot reducing fat, this simply isnt the case, hundreds of situps wont burn stomach fat &#8211; fat naturally comes off in layers from all over the body. The only way to reduce stomach fat is with a good total body exercise programme and by eating a healthy diet.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Remember that we all have stomach muscles waiting to be seen under our belly fat but in order to increase their size and make them more visable they need to be trained like any other body part. So, a combination of the correct abdominal / core exercises, a healthy diet and a good all over body routine will bring your 6 pack abs out for all to see.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>I have found the following 6 exercises to be the best for stabalising your core and reducing potential back pain whilst bringing your abdominals / obliques to the surface.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>1. The Side Plank &#8211; keep your hips inline, belly button in and maintain this postition for as long as possible. Start with 30 secs and increase up to 2 minutes over time. Breathe!</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>2. The Front Plank &#8211; keep your body in a straight line, belly button in and arms at 90 degrees. Start with 30 secs and increase up to 2 minutes over time. Breathe!</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>3. The Bird Dog &#8211; keep your back flat, belly button pulled in, thumb up and out at 45 degrees. Opposite leg goes straight back. Start with 6 reps on each side and work up to 3 sets of 12.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>4. The Front Mountain Climber &#8211; in a press up position with you back flat and belly button pulled in bring your knee straight up to your chest. Breathe out as you do so and contract your abdominals as if you were being punched in the stomach. Take leg back and repeat. Start with 6 on each side and work up to 3 sets of 12.</p>

<p>5. The Outside Mountain Climber &#8211; as above but drop your hips slightly and bring your knee to the outside of your elbow. Squeeze the side of your stomach, your obliques, together as if being folded in half sideways.</p>

<p>6. The Inside Mountain Climber &#8211; as with the above mountain climber but bring your knee across and squeeze the side of your stomach muscles (obliques).</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Perform all these exercises 3 times a week along with your regular workout for the ultimate strong core and the highly ellusive six pack stomach muscles.</p>
