Trust me, bring your fasest dog here and you will be on that plane home with your tail between your legs

That is one of the most ridiculous statements i have ever heard in my life. You clearly have absolutly no idea about greyhound or breeding for that matter.

Australian Greyhounds are faster than american greyhounds, better breeding

they probally just fight. i dont know much about pip bulls but where i come from there are really vital.

I want one of those lures except for only 100 yards me and some buddies want to start drag racing pit bulls

And you know this probably because some anti racing fanatics told you this.
The truth is…. your wrong. But you’d only know this if you knew racing industry people and the kennel folks that really love and care for their dogs. Yes, there are bad apples, but you can’t judge the whole industry by a few old school folks. There are more going into homes than not. Most tracks also have their own adoption group on site or are afiliated with one.

My neighbor adopted a retired greyhound. Sweet dog, but so very skiddish and nervous. Fast as hell though. Not a fan of dog racing but everyone has their own tastes I guess.

I know you are probably most interested in what times a younger, developing greyhound should be running but I hope the above is still useful to you in some way. Cheers.

G’day mate, hope you’re doing well and please pardon the late response. I’m not really sure how many yards there are to metres, but in Australia the track record for Cranbourne over 336 metres is 18.95 and Geelong over 347 metres is 19.38. The 520 metre mark races tend to be the most popular over here, the best over that distance is 28.8 something by Brett Lee in an Adelaide Cup (Group 1) final a few years back now. To win an average open event u’d need a time of high 29 – low 30 secs over 520.

They go to rehoming centres or the owner keeps them. Not what you are thinking.
January 20th, 2010 at 3:29 am
Where do they go after they raced?
January 20th, 2010 at 4:19 am
There are none so blind as those who refuse to see. That would be the anti-racing nuts, just to clarify. You will never understand how happy greyhounds are to have their “jobs” and how well they are treated. Torri also runs an adoption group from the breeding farm, I co-own the black female in the video with her.

Nobody in the greyhound racing industry ever tried to kill a family of four by fire bombing their house in the wee hours of the morning.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing about the animal rights movement (Santa Cruz, CA, August 3 2008)
Animal rights is cruelty to humans.

You can never justify your own selfish behavior. And yet there’s a good chance you go to church or call youself “religious…”
January 20th, 2010 at 6:05 am
Get her off. Greyhound racing should be illegal. Its a cruel irresponsible blood sort. The dogs end up dumped or murdered every year.
Evil people!

hi there im a greyhound owner hes doing very well. i am in ireland and i would love to know what ur dogs run a 350yards distance time ?
January 20th, 2010 at 6:48 am
Thx for the video, great dogs and actually I think they are only happy when they run. Just one question: how do I keep my Greyhound from chasing every living and moving thing whenever I go ride my bycicle and he is (or rather should be) running by my side? Thx for help.

I’m an adopter and a bit surprised by the vehement objection some have to the sport. I imagine it stems from the history of euthenizations. I find it especially odd given the fact that if there was no racing, there’d be no beautiful greys to share our lives. As long as there is sufficient oversight and regulation, there is nothing inherently cruel about the sport, and I imagine they enjoy their careers far more than the cow who provided my dinner tonight.

I can quote anything I want, you terrorist. Animal rights crimes are no secret, they’re public record.
Why don’t you use your military skills to good use….there are some openings in the animal/eco-terrorist movement.
Two people were recently sentenced to prison, one for five years, and the other for six years, in their role in an arson fire at the University Of Washington.
You deserve a promotion from handing out pictures of bloody chickens to first-grade children.

Bruce… I’ve been in the military for 22 years, so dont quote threats to me. What we are talking about here is basic human compassion for an inhumanely exploited animal, something you can’t comprehend. Just because you cant understand the concept, doesnt mean it’s wrong. Think about it you redneck trash.
January 20th, 2010 at 9:15 am
Animal rights extremism and eco-terrorism continue to pose a threat. Extremists within these movements generally operate in small, autonomous cells and employ strict operational security tactics making detection and infiltration difficult. These extremists utilize a variety of tactics, including arson, vandalism, animal theft, and the use of explosive devices.

right…. I think that had better be ‘your little secret’ Bruce… now why dont you run back to the trailer and check that your daughter is still giving birth to the two-headed child you fathered.

Animal rights is cruelty to humans.
January 20th, 2010 at 10:54 am
Greyhound racing: animal cruelty fuelling the human misery of gambling addicts. You people have no redeeming qualities.

Thank you for the video. I love the races and I love the dogs. I suppose I’m one of the few that came to greyhound adoption after first getting hooked on the racing. Keep doing what you are doing…you DO have a fan base that appreciates all you do for the breed.
