ripped abs?
I’ve been working out almost a year and lost 35 lbs, need to lose about 6 more, these are the real tough lbs. to lose. My abdomen is flat and hard and when I pull the skin tight and tighten my muscles I see that I have a future of flat hard abs – no definition. I’m doing crunches and leg lifts with heavy ankle weights 3-4 times a week. I do plenty of cardio, but the fact is my abs are looking flat (which is way better than last year’s beer gut) rather than ripped. I’ve got 2 or 3 months before the beach, and have plenty of discipline.

Do weighted crunches to bring them out. Also diet is the BIGGEST factor. Keep eating clean, but don’t starve yourself and keep the protein high.

For starters see this page:

Also let me tell you my favorite exercise:
The Prone Row… It’s a killer exercise. Keep in mind that the slower you go the more it burns. Lay flat on your stomach lift your feet about four inches off the floor, keeping them about shoulder width. With your arms extended out in front of you palms down raised at equal height as your feet, make fist. Looking forward bring your closed fist even with your shoulders and extend again, keeping your knees and chin off of the floor. That is one rep.

Two types of people get to show ripped abs, either its by genetics or by starving. For most normal people the abs do get hard and tighten but are not so visible. You are on the right track for staying healthy and keep that your goal and dont worry about the 6 pack.

you need to drop your body fat %
Burn more calories than you eat.
Cut your fat intake.
Eat three cups of fat free low cal yogurt a day (make sure it has live cultures in it) and pineapples. This helps you break down your food.
