the v-shape is genetic. It usually happens when your in good shape, and do cardio excersices. I suggest running, basketball, or any sport, and lifting weights.
If you do crunchers with a medicine ball like that you’re just using momentum to perform the movement. Your abs won’t be under tension the entire time. Keep the weight behind your head and limit your range of motion.

Train your obliques and you will soon see results. Most people only train their M. rectus abdominis for the six pack.
But the obliques shape the waist. Just try it.

There is an exercise called bicycles. If you do these while keeping your legs as close together as possible. This will give you the v. Good luck.

although these are great workouts, 10-12 reps max and if you can do more add wieght if you truely want a six pack

The last exercise seems to hurt your back.
