Fit Studio in East Bay now has the Power Plate. The Power Plate is an innovative piece of equipment and Fit Studio is the first in East Bay to offer it.

The Power Plate is an amazing piece of equipment which allows the trainer to do everything from lymphatic stimulation and massage to intense physical training. The Power Plate is a vibration trainer that engages the central nervous system and causes the body to contract and relax muscles involuntarily by exposing the body to gravitational forces higher than experienced on a daily basis. The additional G forces cause the body to use muscles differently than in a traditional weight training session. Because it causes the muscles to work harder during exercise, training on the Power Plate cuts the time in half to complete a training session. It truly adds efficiency to the client’s workout like no other piece of equipment.

A personal trainer at Fit Studio, Jason Owings knew of the machine and championed its benefits to the owners, Sandy McEnroe and Gwen Johnson.

?After moving from Scottsdale, Arizona to Danville, California in 2008, I was looking for a place to train that had a training philosophy similar to the one I had grown to love,? said Jason Owings, NASM personal trainer at Fit Studio. ?I am a firm believer that working out needs to include laughter and fun as well as hard work and I found that environment at Fit Studio in Danville. After describing the benefits of the Power Plate to Sandy and Gwen, they agreed we needed to add it to our equipment line up. In 2009, Fit Studio became the first training center in the East Bay to offer Power Plate training to our clients.”
