Health is the source of happiness in our life. It is a level of functioning of human body and spirit. The definition of health is “The state of the organism when it functions optimally without evidence of disease or abnormality”. This state is characterized by anatomical and psychological integrity, the ability to deal with stress and a feeling of general well being.

Staying healthy means balancing the body and spirit. Learning how to keep your body’s optimal balance requires a lifelong commitment. Human body has its own self healing mechanism which can be maintain by using natural methods, like herbal remedies, alternative medicine, changing nutritional habits, etc. Prevention is extremely important, as disease, generally speaking, is created by ourselves.

Majority of the disease can be prevented. We can not have a healthy society without taking preventive measures. Stress, lack of exercise, drug abuse, environmental toxicity are just a few examples of causes of diseases.

Number one preventive measure is to stop polluting the soil and water. Ocean pollution is a major problem that is affecting not only the ocean, but the rest of the Earth, too. Pollution in the ocean directly affects ocean organisms and indirectly affects human health and resources. Oil spills, toxic wastes, and dumping of other harmful materials are all major sources of pollution in the ocean.

We poison the environment, our body, our minds, every single day, consciously or unconsciously. We poison our soil with chemicals, our waters with waste, our bodies with toxic substances, we overwork. We do all these things on ourselves, creating stress and imbalance. The result is disease, a sick body, an unhealthy society.

All these being said, we have to stop blaming the health care crisis. It is us to be blamed, as we don’t take responsibility for our own bodies. Medical technology save lives, but improving lifestyle habits will even do more. Prevention should our first priority in life.

Conclusion

Taking responsibility of our health is becoming the most urgent goal in our lives. Conscious people are already choosing natural approach to achieve better health, by using alternative medicine.

When losing weight, our body is not programmed to lose weight uniformly, therefore some parts of the body look trimmer while others are still flabby, depending on the amount of exercise performed on certain parts of the body.

When losing weight, our body is not programmed to lose weight uniformly, therefore some parts of the body look trimmer while others are still flabby, depending on the amount of exercise performed on certain parts of the body. This could be a very annoying problem.

The solution to this is simple: total body exercises. Some exercises are better at encouraging uniform weight loss than others, mostly because they use a wide array of muscles throughout the body.

A perfect example of total body workout is swimming, which involves a lot of groups of muscles and it is a form of resistance training too. The swimmers have gorgeous bodies because swimming is indeed a complete body workout.

If you don’t like swimming or you don’t have access to a pool, the best alternative is aerobics, which also provides a total body workout routine. Aerobics exercising is very convenient because you can do it at home, anytime you feel like it. There are a lot of fun DVD’s on the market that teach you how to get a good aerobics routine.

Walking is very good too. Who doesn’t love a brisk walk in the early morning? It is pleasant and refreshing, and you can walk right in your neighborhood. You should buy a pedometer so you can monitor the mileage, time and calories burned. It is actually fun and very motivating!

Joining a gym is another option and it is highly recommended for a total workout, especially if you think that you can’t maintain a good routine at home.

Some reasons you can consider when deciding to join a gym are: necessary equipments for your exercise are available to you in the gym; you will see people with the same goals as yours, like losing or gaining weight, building muscles, wanting to get fit, so you will get motivated; you will formulate a workout routine.

As a conclusion, I strongly suggest that you should start your workout routine as soon as possible. A total body workout should be on everyone’s New Year’s resolution list.

New researches has been done on menopause and led to the conclusion that menopause starts in the brain.

New researches has been done on menopause and led to the conclusion that menopause starts in the brain.

What is menopause? Menopause is the end of menstruation. If a woman’s period stops for one year, then she is considered menopausal, according to North American Menopausal Society. The best known menopause symptoms are hot flashes, insomnia, vaginal dryness, depression and joint pain.

Menopause caught the attention of doctors, scientists and researchers, because of the multitude of real biochemical changes that take place in a woman’s body when she stops menstruating. Beginning to understand how these changes happen is a big step in trying to find more effective treatment solutions.

It is well known that the menopause symptoms are causes by the hormonal imbalance. The ovaries don’t produce enough sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, and this is how all the menopausal problems start. But new researches suggest that menopause symptoms, at least some of them, are not only ovarian, they also start in the brain.

Researchers studied the fact that in some cases the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus stop reacting normally to estrogen.

The hypothalamus and pituitary gland are two parts of the brain that have important roles in integrating the nervous and endocrine system. The pituitary gland releases hormones that control the body’s endocrine system, while the hypothalamus is receiving messages from nerves and integrate that into endocrine gland responses. The hypothalamus is more or less the communication link between the nervous system and the endocrine system. The hypothalamus regulates the secretion of various hormones by controlling the pituitary gland. Doctors believe that pituitary respond to lower estrogen levels, but there is a lack of sensitivity to estrogen in the hypothalamus.

These findings may lead the way to further research that will ultimately help doctors predict the type of menopausal transition a woman might have, and help to design non-estrogen medications that could help reduce symptoms that women experience as they enter this phase of life.

Menopause is a transitional change in a woman's life when the menstrual function ceases and the body adjusts to a lower level of hormones.

Menopause is a transitional change in a woman’s life when the menstrual function ceases and the body adjusts to a lower level of hormones.

Menopause occurs when a woman reaches the age of fifty, but may occur as early as forty and as late as fifty-five years of age.

For many women menopause can be a difficult time because it symbolizes the end of reproductive years. Despite this fact, the end of menstruation should be seen as a welcoming change that is appropriate for older age.

There is a psychological process involved in menopause. Modern society values the beauty and femininity associated with everlasting youth, resulting in a cultural devaluation of older women. This is actually the root of negativity associated with menopause. In many other cultures of the world menopause is seen as a positive part of life, when woman achieves respect as an elder member of society.

This cultural view of menopause is directly related to the way a woman will experience her menopause symptoms. A negative view will generate multiple and severe symptoms, while a positive view will create far less frequent symptoms.

Unfortunately, today menopause is treated conventionally with drugs, like hormone replacement therapy. While this therapy has undeniable benefits, like relief from hot flashes and reduced bone loss, it does increase the risk for cardiovascular disease, breast cancer and liver diseases.

Hormone changes are the essence of the natural process of menopause. The symptoms of menopause will diminish once the body has adjusted to a lower level of hormones, that after all is appropriate for non reproductive years. This will happen without any treatment.

An increasing number of women, educated about natural alternative medicine are choosing the natural approach to menopause. There is much more available to menopausal women than drugs. There is in fact a full menu of natural prescriptions to help women get through this transition period without developing the complications associated with conventional therapy.

Learn how to grow old gracefully by using natural menopause treatment.

Also known as Medicare Supplement Insurance, these Medigap Insurance Plans are not Medicare Advantage Plans (HIMs, PPOs). You must pay a premium on it to an insurance company, and if you bought it after 1991, it will automatically renew, providing you pay the premium. It must clearly state on the front of the policy that this is a Medicare Supplement Insurance.

Do understand that this not your government Medicare coverage, this is private insurance which is sold by insurance companies in addition to your Medicare. This time of policy will only fill in the gaps of what your Original Medicare will not cover.

Medigap Basics – With there being 12 different Medigap policies to choose from, A through L. Medigap policies are designed with standards so that you can easily compare plans sold by different insurance companies. Each type covers the same benefits no matter which company sold it.

As an example, if you buy Plan K from Acme Insurance, it will have the exact same benefits as Plan K bought from ZooLoo Insurance. It makes no difference what company you by from, except the price can vary by a whole lot. So, be sure to shop prices.

The Reasons To Buy A Medigap Policy – Considering the fact that your original Medicare insurance through the government does not pay for all of your health care expenses, buying a supplemental Medigap policy will bridge the gap and pay for some of your expenses. Such expenses are, but not limited to, co-payments, coinsurance and your Medicare deductible, and these are known as “gaps” in the standard Medicare program.

Covering your annual checkup, some home recovery, emergencies if traveling out of the U. S. Are some of the things Medigap policies cover, but not all plans cover these, so shop around to find out what is covered in each type of plan. If you or your husband or wife are retired and have coverage through a previous employer, it might be the case that neither of you will need to buy a Medigap policy. Ask your claims manager if you need to purchase extra coverage.

The Best Time To Buy A Medigap Policy – As soon as you are age 65, and within the open enrollment period. The reason you want to do this during the enrollment season is because no insurance company can refuse you a Medigap policy if you want one. They also cannot make conditions like a waiting period, not can they raise the price due to pre-existing conditions. Please understand that Medigap is not Medicare. These Medigap policies are for paying that money you would owe after Medicare quits paying.

One of the advantages of buying a Medigap policy during your open enrollment period is that the policy may cover your pre-existing health conditions without a waiting period. If you let your open enrollment period expire you might have to wait up to six months before it will cover your pre-existing conditions. So, when you are shopping Medigap Insurance Plans, be sure to keep all these things in mind.

When it comes to Medicare supplements, you might refer to using medigap. With the Medigap quotes, you will see the cost you’re searching for. It’s very important to have medical insurance and a way to get certain medical supplements.
